LES GARRIGUES: the land and legend of the arbequina olive

Les Garrigues is the epicentre of olive oil in Catalonia. The land from which the arbequina olive originated has won over gourmets from all over the world, thanks to its exceptional organoleptic and culinary properties, and this was the force behind the creation of Spain’s first denomination of origin olive oil: DOP Les Garrigues. This denomination was created to guarantee consumers a point of origin and quality for extra virgin arbequina olive oil. They are pioneers. 

EL SEGRIÀ: dry-stone olive oils

El Segrià is proud to boast a genuinely rural landscape, which has been shaped by smallholder farmers. It is based on acres of land growing olive trees and people patiently erecting the dry-stone constructions that can be seen throughout the territory of Lleida and which have gained worldwide recognition via UNESCO.

LA NOGUERA: the olive oil of the stars

La Noguera is a diverse and extensive comarca (local district), which is old and attractive, in which the olive tree has played an important role in moulding the landscape. It is on the way to the Pyrenees and a place where agriculture is in balance with a wild and imposing natural environment which invites us to observe it both by day and at night, under what is considered “the best sky in Catalonia”.
