The majority of the population in the Catalan territories can be found in the local districts of the Lleida plain and the Franja de Ponent (border region between Catalonia and Aragon), where it mainly chooses open spaces and crops of all kinds for nesting. Fortunately, its population has progressively increased in this area, with the species colonizing new places, such as the area near the River Ebro.
