Alpine swift

The alpine swift is a summer bird that prefers to nest on cliffs, in caves, and on fells, although it is now abandoning some of these natural spaces in favour of tall buildings in urban areas. In Western Catalonia, it is particularly found in the mountainous areas of El Montsec, in the north, and in the hills of Almatret, in the south, but its numbers have declined in El Segrià and the local districts of the plain.
