Black-winged kite

A very rare bird of prey in Catalonia, but one enjoying a slow expansion. In recent years, its occasional nesting in Catalonia has only been observed on the Lleida plain and in Empordà. Its preferred habitat is open savannah and grasslands and, in particular, cereal crop environments with abundant margins and scattered trees.
