La Pedrera

Pallars Jussà

ZONE:

6

GENERAL SCORE:

8

La Pedrera (the Quarry) is a sector located at La Pobla de Segur. It is next to the Congost de Collegats gorge, a narrow crack that has shaped the character of the high rock walls that surround it.

Popularity of the zone
This is a very pretty sector and a perfect option for climbing in summer, which also offers the possibility of cooling off in the river. It has spout formations and quite a sheer profile.

Access/Parking
The path is comfortable, but to cross the river it is necessary to use a zip line, which particularly complicates the return trip. There are parking areas at Morreres and La Figuereta.

Vantage points and emblematic locations
The name of the zone reminds us of one of Gaudí’s most emblematic buildings: La Pedrera. In fact, the Catalan architect took inspiration from these rocks when he designed Casa Milà.

Chris’s ties with the zone
This is one of Chris’s favourite areas for climbing in summer, and on hot days, thanks to the proximity of the water.
