Abella de la Conca
ZONE:
GENERAL SCORE:
Abella de la Conca is one of the less famous rock-climbing zones. It is located in El Pallars Jussà , in the Serra de Carrà nima.
Popularity of the zone
This is a secret waiting to be discovered. Due to the great number of rock-climbing areas that exist in Lleida, many people have yet to discover Abella de la Conca. This means that it is possible to enjoy the climbing in what is a much less crowded area. It has many routes, of varying degrees of difficulty, that receive the sun until 3 pm. Ideal for climbing in spring, summer and autumn.
Access/Parking
There is a good road as far as the village where it is possible to park your car at a tarmacked site. In some areas, access to the sector is not easy. In fact, at some points, access is via an iron way.
Vantage points and emblematic locations
The whole site is really bewitching, but it is well-worth spending some time enjoying the Forat dels Lladres (Thieves’ Hole), which are bridges of natural rock that were once used as a shelter during the Spanish Civil War
Chris’s ties with the zone
Abella de la Conca was a real discovery for Chris. He was captivated by its mysterious character and its capacity to surprise. This is a place where it is possible to find a wide range of routes, where the access is not easy, but the experience is worth the trouble. It is a perfect place for disconnecting and discovering yourself.
