It very rarely nests in the lands of Western Catalonia. When it has nested there, the places chosen in recent years have been the Illa dels Martinets, in the Aiguabarreig (confluence) of the rivers Segre, Cinca and Ebre (its only habitual place in Lleida), the marshes of Rufea, and probably also Utxesa.
